As a Software Engineering Manager at TGS Prediktor, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our SaaS solutions.

In this position, you will demonstrate strong technical leadership and expertise, facilitating significant projects while nurturing high-performing teams. Your passion for individual growth and guiding the technical direction of our organization will be essential. You will collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and achieve results. You will optimize your own code and ensure that your team of software engineers can do the same. Your responsibilities will include managing project objectives, contributing to product strategy, and supporting your team's development.

Teams operate across various domains, including industrial IT and OT, large-scale system architecture, distributed computing, high-volume data management, networking, security, data analytics, AI/ML, and user interface design. Our exceptional software engineering team is just beginning its journey, and as an engineering manager, you will lead the way.

You are expected to serve as a mentor and leader for the software engineering teams, driving multiple projects forward while collaborating closely with the DevSecOps team, System Architects, QA & Automation Engineers, Product Owners, and the Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Build and manage high-performing teams of software engineers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient resource allocation. Oversee the development of product components or features, maintaining alignment with the overall strategy and managing technical complexities. Integrate security into all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from design and development to testing and deployment. Foster an adaptive, agile, and lean culture; support the team in delivering clean, readable, secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions; and drive operational improvements for excellence in customer-centric product development. Continuously enhance team performance and quality, recruit top talent, and mentor team members for their growth in technical, product, and interpersonal skills. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring team alignment with organizational objectives and building cross-functional partnerships. Create visuals and outcome metrics to foster a culture of fast feedback, learning, and cross-team alignment.

Required Competence and Skills

BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent. 8 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, C, Python, Rust, or Go. Experience with .NET is a plus. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects, with at least 2 years in a people management or team leadership capacity. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Norwegian is an advantage. Strong understanding of SOLID principles, design and architecture patterns, and industry best practices. Proficient in designing and writing APIs (e.g., REST, GraphQL, (g)RPC). Familiarity with major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as containers and Kubernetes. Knowledge of agile and lean software development methodologies to prioritize and meet delivery expectations. Experience with efficient and effective CI/CD pipelines. Experience in leading, mentoring, and guiding software engineering team members. Familiarity with OPC-UA or other IoT protocols is a plus.
