About the Role
The Senior Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients and must operate autonomously within full compliance of all legal, accounting, and general tax requirements. The clients' portfolio includes global and local clients. This responsibility includes regular financial reporting, financial statements, and corporate income tax calculation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial service delivery and client onboarding.
- Uphold client service quality.
- Build the Financial Management service line and offer services to current and new clients.
- Handle clients/advice in financial questions, in general and also with regards to acquisition/decommission/mergers, etc.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients and provide information within agreed deadlines.
- Oversee and ensure statutory financial compliance and financial reporting as necessary.
- Liaise with advisors, intermediaries, and client offices in the setting up, structuring, and ongoing maintenance of client entities and financial models.
- Drive the implementation and execution of performance management reviews.
- Own the capacity planning part of the workforce planning.
- Understand the financial implications of decisions.
- Generate ideas for improvement based on past experience.
- Identify and promote opportunities to share knowledge.
- Strive for high standards of delivery to clients.
- Delegate work across the team as appropriate.
- Share knowledge to ensure targets are met.
- Communicate (verbally and through written work) information in a clear and concise manner.
- Manage stakeholders' expectations regarding delivery, escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Handle issues, provide flexible options and recommendations, escalating as appropriate.
- Understand and apply control and risk and governance frameworks consistently.
Key Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field and a professional qualification. Master's degree in Economics, Accounting, or Auditing.
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Long experience can make up for education requested.
- Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Other software packages as appropriate.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Norwegian and English.
- Typically manage a team of individuals, supporting the development of a more junior team, particularly direct reports through objective setting and delivering constructive feedback.
- Proactively build a high performing, collaborative team.
- Understand what motivates individuals and use this awareness to successfully drive individual and team performance.
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels.
