The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to contribute to increasing safety by designing safe systems, verifying system performance through testing and supporting the installation and commissioning phase. The preferred location for this position is Stavanger, but for the right candidate, our other project hubs can be considered: Tønsberg, Trondheim, Bergen, Oslo, sorted in order of preference. Some travel activity within Norway is expected.

Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  1. Analyze customer specifications and develop safe designs according to rules and regulations.
  2. Specify system components and transfer orders to our production department.
  3. Configure fire detection and security systems and carry out Factory Acceptance Tests in cooperation with customers.
  4. Produce and maintain documentation for the production department, approval bodies, and customers.
  5. Support customers during installation and configure interfaces to other systems.
  6. Support system commissioning on board ships in cooperation with customers and various class societies.
  7. Be Autronica's technical person in projects, supporting the project manager with regards to required clarifications with the customer to design the solution.
Requirements

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  1. B.Sc. / M.Sc. in electronics, electrical, automation or other relevant fields. Vocational education (Fagbrev) within electrician, instrumentation, or electronic is well-qualified.
  2. 3 years' experience in PLC programming and configuration of Linux-based computer systems and networks is an advantage.
  3. Experience from the fire detection / safety industry is a definite advantage.
  4. Experience with 3D CAD, AutoCAD (Electrical) or similar software.
  5. Fluent written and oral, both English and Norwegian.
  6. Familiar with regulations that apply to the fire detection industry; land, maritime and offshore energy.
