Research Scientist at the Department of Biomedicine

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team at the Department of Biomedicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research group working on mechanisms of invasion and therapy resistance in human glioblastoma.
About the ProjectOur research group is focused on understanding the role of microtubes in tumour cell communication and the possibility of mitochondrial transfer between tumour cells and stromal cells. The project involves designing, planning, and performing in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate new mechanisms of microtube/nanotube formation and their potential therapeutic applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and perform experiments to investigate microtube formation and mitochondrial transfer
- Participate in writing publications and research grants
- Supervise PhD and masters students
- PhD in a relevant field (cell biology, cancer research, or brain cancer research)
- Experience with animal work (FELASA C or equivalent) and surgical interventions
- Strong publication track record, including recent first-author publications
- Experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, western blot, CRISPR/Cas9, and lentiviral vectors
