About the Position
The postdoctoral position at Norwegian University of Science and Technology is a temporary opportunity for a researcher to qualify for a senior academic position.
The position will be part of Porelab, a research centre of excellence in porous media.
Porelab is an interdisciplinary centre that aims to advance the understanding of flow in porous media.
The centre works to develop theories, principles, tools, and methods to reduce the trial and error approach to porous media.
The main goal of the centre is to advance knowledge in biology, chemistry, geology, and geophysics based on fluid mechanics, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, and statistical mechanics.
Duties of the Position
- Conduct research in the nexus between thermodynamics and porous media science.
- Write academic papers and submit them to international scientific journals.
- Participate in international scientific conferences.
Qualification Requirements
- A Norwegian doctoral degree or a corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD in thermodynamics or another relevant area.
- Excellent competence and extensive background in thermodynamics.
- Excellent written and oral skills in English.
- Extensive experience with programming.
Preferred Qualification Criteria
- Interest for and competence in porous media science.
