We seek an experienced Sustainability and ESG Manager to lead our ESG initiatives, ensuring we operate with the highest standards of integrity and contribute positively to society and the environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join Norway's first unicorn as we expand into new markets.

About the role

The Sustainability and ESG Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing our ESG strategy, aligning it with industry standards and stakeholder expectations. Key focus areas include environmental stewardship, social responsibility, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • ESG Strategy Development & Implementation:
    • Develop and implement the company's ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
    • Set measurable ESG goals, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to track progress.
    • Identify and address ESG risks and opportunities within the business, particularly related to industrial applications.
  • Environmental Stewardship:
    • Lead initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprint, including carbon reduction, waste management, and energy efficiency.
    • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate sustainability principles into software and AI solutions.
    • Implement sustainable procurement policies and partnerships with eco-conscious vendors and suppliers.
  • Social Responsibility:
    • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization, promoting inclusive practices in recruitment, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Governance & Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with global ESG regulations, particularly Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and ESRS.
    • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and finance teams to maintain transparency in reporting, ethics, and governance practices.
    • Lead ESG reporting, including preparing annual sustainability reports and disclosures for investors, clients, and other stakeholders.
    • Establish policies to ensure responsible data management, cybersecurity, and AI use, addressing ethical concerns related to industrial AI applications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
    • Engage with investors, customers, and regulatory bodies to communicate the company's ESG performance and commitments.
    • Carry out third-party due diligence to ensure ESG compliance.
    • Work closely with the marketing and communications teams to enhance the company's ESG narrative and showcase its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
    • Stay informed on emerging ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to evolve the company's approach continuously.
    • Project manage and lead annual ESG reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in ESG roles, preferably within industrial or data-driven organizations.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful ESG initiatives and sustainability programs.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and regulations.
  • Experience working with industrial data, AI ethics, or related fields is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present ESG data to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across departments and with external partners.
  • Passion for sustainability, social impact, and ethical governance.
