Astrophysics Specialist in Atmospheric Escape Processes

We are seeking an exceptional astrophysicist to join our team as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The successful candidate will focus on modeling atmospheric escape processes using advanced computational techniques.

This role involves working closely with our research group to develop new theories and methods for simulating complex astronomical phenomena. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in astrophysics, with expertise in numerical simulations and data analysis.

The appointment is a full-time position for four years, with 25% of the time devoted to required duties, such as teaching and mentoring students. Our research group is part of the Centre for Planetary Habitability at the University of Oslo, which has a strategic ambition to be among Europe's leading communities for research, education, and innovation.

  • Design and implement computational models to simulate atmospheric escape processes
  • Collaborate with our research group to analyze and interpret complex data sets
  • Present research findings at international conferences and workshops

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in astrophysics or a related field, with a strong track record of publishing original research. Experience in programming languages such as Fortran or C++ is highly desirable.
