About the Role

The Educational Equality Institute is seeking a highly motivated and experienced English Language Teacher to join our team. As a language teacher, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the language skills of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement effective lesson plans to teach basic language skills to students.
  • Classroom Instruction: Conduct online or in-person language classes for students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate learners.
  • Student Progress Evaluation: Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their language skills.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff members to develop effective teaching strategies and support student learning.
  • Student Support and Guidance: Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them achieve their language learning goals.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops provided by TEEI to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in language instruction.
Requirements
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience in teaching or tutoring language learners, with a strong understanding of language acquisition principles and instructional methods.
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans, incorporating a range of teaching strategies and materials to engage learners.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Organizational and Record-Keeping Skills: Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records of student progress and program activities.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, with a strong understanding of language structures, vocabulary, and usage.
  • Language Teaching Certificate: Holding a language teaching certificate is highly valued, but not required.
