Tax Compliance Role

At Statkraft, we require a Tax Compliance Specialist to collaborate with Group Tax and other functions to prepare the annual local Transfer Pricing Documentation, CCO compliance, and support the Finance Managers with SAO requirements.

The Tax Compliance Specialist will provide guidance to the accounting team on how to process invoices and transactions in Statkraft ERP to maximize automation and reduce the risks of errors on Tax and VAT fillings.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Calculating quarterly instalment payments for UK Corporation Tax and submitting requests for payment according to the Statkraft payment process
  2. Preparing the UK Corporation Tax computations and returns
  3. Responsible for filing the UK Corporation Tax computations and returns within the statutory deadlines
  4. Working with Group Tax in respect of any HMRC queries, audits, and/or business risk review processes
  5. Collaborating with Group Tax and other functions to prepare the annual local TP documentation
  6. Supporting with SAO and CCO compliance and working with Group Tax to ensure appropriate controls and monitoring are in place

Additionally, the Tax Compliance Specialist will lead all correspondence and liaison with HMRC on query resolution, calculate and prepare monthly CIT G/L postings in the ERP system, and prepare Tax Forms for quarterly and yearly Group Financial Reporting Process.

Requirements

Proven experience with computing, preparing, and filling tax returns for Corporation Tax, VAT, and other Indirect taxes as applicable for UK companies.

Proven experience working with tax reporting in a multinational organisation.

Relevant accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA).

Post-qualification experience with Corporation Tax, including calculation for quarterly returns to group and authorities.

Good knowledge of VAT rules and withholding Taxes. Good understanding of IFRS and accounting practices in the UK for Tax disclosures.

Experience with Senior Accounting Officer and CCO compliance.

Experience with ERPs, preferably SAP (FI/CO), OneSource, Cognos, Onestream, and Workiva.

Good understanding of business processes, experience within the energy sector to be considered an advantage.
