Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional VP of Engineering to assume full responsibility for our engineering organization, its people, processes, and general performance. As a key member of our leadership team, you will ensure high-quality software is delivered at pace, according to company goals, and maintain CHOOOSE AS as a place where the best engineers want to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage a growing engineering team of 20+ to deliver a high standard of engineering excellence.
  • Technical Vision: Be accountable for the scalability, performance, and reliability of our product, collaborating with the Executive and Product Management teams to define and execute the technical vision for CHOOOSE AS.
  • Mentorship: Mentor the team, and roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Recruitment: Work to develop a technical brand outside of the company, with a strong emphasis on recruiting the best engineering talent in Norway.
  • Employee Experience: Partner with PeopleOps to deliver a high-quality employee experience, ensuring the well-being and growth of our engineering team.
Requirements
  • Commitment to Excellence: Commitment to product and technical excellence, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality software.
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles within fast-growing companies, with a proven ability to lead high-performing teams.
  • Technical Expertise: 5+ years of software development experience as a high-performing individual contributor building enterprise software, with a strong understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of adapting style to different audiences and stakeholders, both internally and externally representing the company in front of customers and potential investors.
  • Education: Master's degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Location: Located in or near Oslo, Norway.
