PhD Researcher in CO2 Emissions Reduction via Solvent Management

At the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, we are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to contribute to our research group focused on developing innovative solutions for reducing CO2 emissions. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on solvent management technologies in amine-based CO2 capture plants.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research on solvent management technologies, including simulation, modelling, and experimental work.
- Collaborate with the project team to identify and evaluate various solvent management concepts.
- Publish research findings in recognized scientific journals and present results internally and externally.
- Participate in the mandatory PhD research education program and engage in group and institute activities.
- A professionally relevant background in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, with experience in using process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys) and modelling using Matlab, Python, or similar.
- Familiarity with absorption processes and a strong academic background from previous studies, with an average grade equal to B or better compared with NTNU's grading scale.
- Master's students can apply, but the master's degree must be obtained and documented within 3 months after the start of the position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The salary for this position is approximately NOK 532,200 per annum, before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The appointment is for 3 years, with the possibility of extension.
