HR and Administration Manager

Green hydrogen has a central role in shaping a sustainable energy future. At Hystar, we believe the full potential of renewables can only be realized by large-scale energy storage and use of hydrogen in heavy-duty transportation and industry.

Based on a new and unique patented PEM electrolyser concept, Hystar is currently developing our next-generation PEM electrolyser to accelerate the deployment of large-scale green hydrogen production. Hystar is an innovative, high-tech company, based at Høvik, just outside Oslo, Norway. At Hystar, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the company as well as develop your own career.

We're looking for a HR and Administration Manager passionate about creating an efficient, engaging, and well-organized work environment. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, oversee recruitment and employee relations, manage compensation and benefits, and ensure the smooth operation of the office and workplace. With a hands-on approach, you thrive in both strategic and operational responsibilities. As a key member of Hystar's extended management team, you will play a vital role in cultivating a positive, engaging, and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

People & HR Administration

  1. Support organizational development to ensure the organizational setup is aligned with the company's strategy and goals.
  2. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's values as well as comply with HR laws and regulations.
  3. Drive talent management efforts including recruitment, onboarding, and development to attract and retain top talent.
  4. Manage performance management and employee relations to ensure that employee concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  5. Provide strategic and operational HR support to the management team and advise on HR-related matters.
  6. Oversee compensation and benefits administration to ensure that employees are provided with competitive benefits packages. Collaborate with finance on payroll-related items.
  7. Foster a positive and productive work environment, including addressing any employee-related issues that may arise.
  8. Manage and maintain HR systems and workflows.

Office & Workplace Management

  1. Manage office logistics, including supplies, equipment, and facility management. Act as the main point of contact for office vendors and service providers.
  2. Act as the Health, Safety, and Environment representative.
  3. Coordinate and plan company events, meetings, and social activities fostering a positive workplace while managing budgets and ROI.
  4. Support internal communication efforts to enhance company culture.
  5. Ensure a smooth, well-organized, and welcoming office environment.

What You Bring

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in HR, office administration, or a similar role.
  3. Technology savvy utilizing systems, tools, and technology driving efficient HR operations.
  4. Knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including local and national regulations.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Fluent in Norwegian and English.
