Oslo, Oslo County, Norway Wolt Full time

Business Developer Retail

Wolt is a Finnish technology company best known for our food delivery platform. We're a global team of 12,000+ people in 27 countries and over 500+ cities, servicing over 36 million registered users. As the platform economy changes how consumers connect with restaurants and retailers, we're seeing a huge opportunity to be the industry leader with the amazing teams we have built globally.

Wolt is evolving beyond food delivery to become a broader service platform with great potential. One of our fastest-growing verticals is retail, and we are now fully committed to making this vertical change how consumers in Norway shop. To take a leading role in this transformation, we are now searching for a Retail Business Developer to drive growth, innovation and operational excellence for our strategic partners.

As a Retail Business Developer, you will be responsible for managing and growing partnerships with major Norwegian retailers, from groceries to pharma and beyond. Your mission is to drive their success on Wolt by developing and executing effective growth strategies and continuous improvement to the benefit of both partners and Wolt. The role will include everything from business expansions, assortment planning, and marketing strategies to the technical and operational aspects of integrations and logistics. In the role, you will have the full support of Wolt's global expertise and resources while having the autonomy to explore, innovate, and co-create solutions with our partners.

To succeed in this role we believe you are a commercial problem-solver who thrives on identifying new opportunities, driving processes forward, and taking on significant responsibilities. You enjoy seeing your business portfolio grow and are motivated by continuous progress and business development. Even though Wolt has grown into a 15,000-person company, we still maintain a strong scale-up culture—meaning you should enjoy being hands-on, working across functions, and taking initiative beyond your job description. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you

What you'll be doing:

  • Driving Growth & Business Development – Develop and execute strategies to expand key accounts, optimize assortments, and enhance profitability. Pitch and implement campaigns, sell Wolt Ads, and promote Wolt+ services to strengthen partnerships.
  • Data-Driven Strategy & Market Insight – Use analytics and market knowledge to shape strategies, conduct business reviews, and drive performance improvements.
  • Operational Excellence & Partner Success – Ensure seamless in-store processes, customer shopping experience, optimize quality standards, and collaborate with partners to implement growth initiatives.
  • Building Strong Relationships – Maintain close partnerships through proactive communication and a solution-oriented approach.

Our humble expectations:

  • Commercial & Strategic Thinker – Proven success in Key Account Management or Business Development, with a strong ability to drive profitable growth through data-driven strategies.
  • Retail & Market Knowledge – Experience in Norwegian retail, e-commerce, or FMCG is a plus, along with skills in negotiating and developing partnerships.
  • Analytical & Insight-Driven – Proficient in using tools like Looker or PowerBI to turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Stakeholder & Project Management – Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to align stakeholders and lead growth initiatives.
  • Entrepreneurial & Hands-On – Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
  • Clear Communicator – Strong storytelling and presentation skills, with fluency in English and Norwegian.

In addition to the dynamic role outlined above, we're committed to fostering growth and development opportunities for our team members. Whether it's within your current department or exploring new avenues across the organization, we encourage and support your professional advancement journey. Our culture of continuous learning and internal mobility ensures that every member of our team has the chance to thrive and excel in their career.
