Nutrition and Health Specialist for Atlantic Salmon

Are you passionate about fish nutrition and willing to take on a challenging research project? We are seeking a skilled PhD candidate to investigate the effects of vitamin D on the nutrition, health, and welfare of Atlantic salmon. As a member of our team, you will contribute to advancing our understanding of fish nutrition and health.
About the ProjectThis PhD project aims to explore the impact of vitamin D and its metabolite calcifediol on mineral nutrition, welfare, bone, and skin health in Atlantic salmon. You will design and conduct nutritional trials and experiments, analyze data using statistical methods, and collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fish nutrition, especially micronutrient nutrition, and very good analytical skills. Practical experience in cell work and a good insight into omics techniques are also essential. A good knowledge of statistical analysis, preferably with R, is considered an advantage.
We expect the successful candidate to be highly motivated, creative, and ambitious, with an excellent academic record and the ability to work with other members of a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements- Master's degree in Aquaculture, Applied Nutrition and Health or equivalent fields.
- Strong background in fish nutrition, especially micronutrient nutrition.
- Very good analytical skills.
- Practical experience in cell work.
- Good insight into omics techniques.
