Role Overview
Responsibilities in the Italian Origination Team:
As a member of the Southern Europe Origination Department, the Italian Origination team is responsible for originating and managing a diverse portfolio of long-term contracts in Italy, including customized Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and extended sales contracts for significant end customers or resellers. This role involves close collaboration with Statkraft's trading desks and other regional Origination teams to provide tailored energy solutions across Europe. The business has expanded significantly in both size and complexity.
As a Sales Originator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Cultivating and sustaining relationships with major electricity consumers, such as industrial firms and corporate clients, acting as a key account manager and understanding their procurement needs.
- Identifying, developing, negotiating, and executing intricate structured energy transactions in the Italian market, with a focus on renewable PPAs.
- Exploring market opportunities and promoting new products in collaboration with other teams, disseminating information and opportunities effectively.
- Creating innovative marketing and trading opportunities with clients to expand Statkraft's market presence.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues in the Milan office, fellow originators, portfolio managers, and risk analysts for new deal origination, structuring, and pricing.
- Overseeing the complete deal approval process with all internal stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for:
An experienced sales professional equipped with the essential skills to ensure the future success of our business and renewable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A university degree in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in energy consultancy, energy procurement, or industry associations is highly desirable.
- A strategic, commercially-oriented mindset with strong analytical abilities.
- An independent, self-motivated individual with an international perspective.
- The capability to multitask and adopt a hands-on approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in both Italian and English is required.
