Are you equipped to lead great projects and great people, ensuring operational and technical quality? Do you thrive in multidisciplinary teams and would be part of some of the most exciting projects in Norway? Then, this is your chance, join our team within Buildings and Industry.

Create sustainable solutions with a team of experts.

COWI has a strong position in Norway within Buildings and Industry and is experiencing high demand for the major development projects that are coming. To support our projects we are now looking for a Project Manager with extensive experience in similar fields. The position as Project Manager will report to VP Project – Defence, Industry and Data centers.

We are a dedicated team and together with customers, partners, and contractors, we are working on some of Norway's most significant projects and are excited to contribute to projects like the new airport Bodø, Fornebubanen, Skygard Data Center, and various hospitals and defence projects.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams towards success for COWI and our clients.
  • Manage contracts and risks.
  • Plan and budget effectively.
  • Handle project changes, realigning scope, deliverables, and time schedules.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with clients.
  • Engage in dialogue with clients to ensure project progress and quality.
  • Work interdisciplinary for competence sharing across COWI.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

To succeed in this role, you should be eager to collaborate with colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is essential, and you should act respectfully and deliver on your promises.

On top of that, you will have:

  • An engineering background or master within the relevant industry.
  • Experience within HVAC, electrical, or construction is an advantage.
  • Solid experience from either consulting, contracting, or other relevant fields of business.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian/Scandinavian.

COWI has customers and projects that may require security clearance at various levels. There may therefore be requirements for security clearance in some projects/positions.

A place to work and so much more

At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world. We do it by applying our knowledge and curiosity – and sometimes even our courage – to create the solutions the world needs today to enable a better tomorrow. That is why we say no to fossil-based projects and aspire to have 100% of our revenue come from activities that move our customers towards sustainability.

We value differences and development and cultivate an environment of belonging and having fun. Because that is what brings out the best in you, at work and at home.

With offices primarily located in the Nordic region, the UK, North America, and India, we are currently more than 8,000 people who bring their expertise in engineering, architecture, energy, and environment into play.

What we also offer:

  • The opportunity to build up your skills with exciting projects.
  • Good opportunities for personal development through a personal development plan, COWI Academy, and the COWI Connect mentoring scheme.
  • National and international collaboration across organizations and disciplines. We have approx. 70 different professional networks in COWI.
  • An active company culture with social and athletic activities, "lønningstreff," and company cabins.
  • Flexible working hours with a home office arrangement, five weeks' holiday, and time off between Christmas and New Year.
  • A separate community called "Young in COWI" for employees under the age of 34, where social trips and events are arranged.
  • Finally, a good working environment. It is important for us to be generous and stand up for each other, which is also reflected in our well-being and employee surveys.

If you have any unanswered questions about the role or what we have to offer, please reach out to Magnus Mustonen at MGMS@COWI.COM.

Before you apply

All you need to include in your application is your CV – no photo or application letter. At an interview, you can tell us everything we need to know about why you're interested in joining COWI. As for the photo, we prefer to form our first impression in person rather than from a picture.

We are happy to receive your CV in Norwegian or English - whichever you prefer.

Diversity is fundamental to COWI, inclusion is key.

We are committed to creating a respectful and fair work environment where all employees have a sense of belonging and equitable opportunities to thrive and grow. We ensure that our leaders are role models for inclusive leadership by cultivating a culture where diverse perspectives and thoughts are seen as strengths. And we take diversity and inclusion into account in all relevant decisions and processes and when setting teams and forums. We do it because it is part of our values and because it is simply the right thing to do.
