Job Description

The role represents a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth by being a part of the Business Development team and being involved in all growth activities in India with a focus on acquisitions across solar, wind, hydro & new emerging areas including storage & green hydrogen etc.

As a Manager: Business Development you would be reporting to the Head – Hydro and Mergers & Acquisition and will be responsible for:

Carrying business development activities in renewable power with focus on M&A. Evaluate a variety of investment opportunities in the Indian renewable energy sector (M&A / Greenfield) with knowledge and experience in financial modelling. Understand and track the industry & market development, new projects & business models, new technologies (including storage), competitive activity, strategy, regulatory & policy developments. Execute and continuously update strategy & business plan in line with organisation’s strategy for renewable energy. Assist in building, review and updation of detailed financial models, considering industry and project-based assumptions, perform cash flow, profitability & valuation analysis including DCF. Assist in engaging advisors and carrying out third party due diligence (finance / tax, market, technical, legal, accounting, land, regulatory, environmental, etc). Lead due diligence process and review the diligence reports to ensure that the key diligence findings are addressed appropriately in risks/return. Prepare investment rationale notes & presentations for Statkraft’s investment committees / senior management. Participate in discussions with management teams, coordinate with internal groups and the management to monitor all on-going business development activities. Ensure compliance to internal policies and business framework across business development cycle. Other relevant duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

We look for experienced personnel with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions, with the following:

Post Graduate degree such as MBA from leading Indian or global institution or CFA or CA with a Graduate degree in Science, Economics, Commerce or Engineering. Total relevant experience of 5 to 10 years – relevant experience includes either M&A/consulting experience and/or renewable energy industry experience in India. Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills. Extensive working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience of managing renewable energy project development involving multiple stakeholders across cultures and countries. Displays a high degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage internal and external relationships. Ability to Influence subject matter experts across a wide range of issues relating to energy markets in general and specific projects. Flexible to adapt to changing business requirements and a high performing team player who enjoys a high-performance culture. Open to and comfortable with constantly evolving and changing priorities and new challenges. Willing to travel, flexible and dynamic.
